Christmas Kiss Candies
- 3/4 cup (3 1/2 oz pkg
slivered almonds
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/8 teaspoon red food coloring
1/8 teaspoon green food coloring
24 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped
granulated sugar
Pour the slivered almonds into your blender’s container. Cover and blend on high speed until they are very finely chopped. Pour into a mixing bowl. Combine the almonds with confectioner’ sugar. Combine the corn syrup and almond extract. Drizzle corn syrup mixture into the almond mixture, stirring until well blended. Divide the mixture in half. In one half, add red food coloring; in the remaining half, add the green food coloring. Mix with your hands until colors are well blended and mixture clings together well. Press about 1 teaspoon of the almond mixture around a milk chocolate kiss, maintaining the shape of the kiss. Store in airtight container.
