Diet and Nutrition
Last year I had a number of clients who started stubbornly on the
Atkins diet despite my warnings. Immediately I saw almost
profound results in their weight loss.
Can we really stop the aging process, slow it down, or even
reverse the effects of aging on our skin and body? It is an
enigma for which so many have searched the answers to for years.
Now, with advanced modern science making breakthroughs and
discoveries every day, the answers have become apparent to the
age-old quest for the proverbial fountain of youth.
Glowing skin comes free of charge to you. Our simple water does
it effectively.
The dangers of processed foods and diets Why is that the business
of food processing is not strictly regulated by law so as to
prevent health problems generated by an inadequate diet?
Unhealthy products encourage an unhealthy diet. They appeal to the
consumer by their availability and invasive advertising.
I start from the premise that eating instinctively means eating
healthily. I strongly believe that the body can transmit to the
brain accurate information about its nutritional necessities: a
moderate amount of food, and only foods that are beneficial for
health.
Your fiber intake is a critical factor in weight loss and general
well-being. Health professionals advise that adults should eat at
least 25-35 grams of fiber each day.
THE RISK When you consume food that's high in acid or heavily
processed, or food that causes an allergic response in your
digestive system, the food will not be absorbed properly into
your body as nutrients. Instead, some of the food will be
absorbed into your bloodstream as acid waste.
THE RISK The primary symptom of acid reflux is obvious to those
who have it. During the digestive process, acid flows up into the
throat and causes a burning sensation.
THE RISK No doubt you've heard of the increasingly popular "raw
food" and "whole food" diets. Why are people so interested in
eating raw food or whole food? One reason is that eating these
types of food reduces the risk of acid accumulation in your body.
It is a question we must ask ourselves continually if we want to
live a healthy life. Your health is your most prized possession.
What Ever Happened to the Basic FourThe USDA was originally given
the conflicting task of educating the public on agricultural
matters while simultaneously working with food producers to
provide a reliable and consistent food supply. This has, over the
course of time, led to our ever evolving dietary guidelines, and
yet is the purpose of these guidelines for our health or to sell
more food?Would You Believe There Were Once 12 Food Groups? The
food guides during the 1930's were heavily influenced by The
Great Depression and at that time included 12 separate groups! In
1956 the USDA produced the "Basic Four" food guide.
I spent a few days at a resort in Mexico this past summer for a
friend's wedding. I've known her since the 2nd grade and it was a
really fun time hanging out with familiar faces.
ABC News has recently focused on the possible anti-aging benefits
of hyaluronic acid, also known as Hyaluron or HA. In a story
entitled, "The Village of Long Life: Could Hyaluronic Acid Be an
Anti-Aging Remedy?", the focus was on a villiage in Japan named
Yuzuri Hara where people usually live a long time and often have
perfect skin into their 80's or even into their 90's.
According to the renowned research scientist and inventor of the
Z one Diet Plan Dr. Barry Sears, studies are increasingly
focusing on high dose fish oil.
Zingiber officinale has been held in the highest regard by the
Indian and Chinese civilizations for as far back as 5000
